Garden Railway Attendant
The Garden Railway Attendant operates the Garden Railway Display. This seasonal position ensures the display and trains are operating during all hours of operation from early September through December for the enjoyment of our guests. This position requires exceptional guest service skills, walking outdoors, lifting light loads, working in all weather conditions, and experience in operating G-scale or equivalent model trains.
The seasonal Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of guests, employees, and the properties at Longwood Gardens. Individuals must have the personality and ability to deal well with the public and fellow employees. Previous security experience preferred. This position requires the ability to work a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Longwood Gardens has seasonal openings for housekeeping staff. Individuals in this position will perform various duties to ensure the cleanliness and excellent physical appearance of both the buildings and grounds. Selected applicants will also work with various departments to assist in the setup of functions and events. We are looking for candidates who have exceptional customer service, communication and hospitality skills. Work schedules will vary but may include weekends, evenings and holidays. Seasonal Plant Sales
The seasonal Plant Sales candidate will be responsible for assisting the Plant Specialist in The GardenShop greenhouse. Duties will include educating guests about plant selection and plant care, processing plant shipments, maintaining and caring for plant material in The GardenShop. The preferred candidate will be able to provide excellent customer service as well as demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills. The preferred candidate will have 1 to 2 years of garden retail and/or horticultural experience. Applicants must be able to lift 30 pounds, pick up plants, push watering tanks, work outside and pull hoses. Hours will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
