The Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition is open to individuals 18-30 years old by Monday, November 2, 2015.
All applicants must complete the Application Formavailable on the Competition website. Applications must be submitted with the following support materials: • A resume in English (maximum 2 pages) that outlines the candidate’s training, prizes and awards (with proof) and current professional status. • A brief biography in English (maximum 150 words). • A photocopy of a valid passport. • At least one full color horizontal photo (1 is mandatory, 2-3 preferred) and at least one full color vertical photo (1 is mandatory, 2-3 preferred). The minimum resolution must be 300 dpi, and files must be sent in JPEG format. All photographs, submitted must be free of copyright restrictions.
Completed Application Forms and supporting materials (resume, biography, passport copy, and photos) must be submitted electronically to: email@example.com no later than 5 pm Eastern Standard Time on Monday, November 2, 2015. Only the first 60 complete application forms will be admitted to the audition round of the Competition, subject to approval by the audition jury.
Auditions will take place by CD submission only.
Following application submission, an audio recording must also be submitted for preliminary selection of candidates. The recording must be sent as an audio CD, with separate tracks for each work, and accompanied by the official CD Submission Formavailable on the Competition website.
Audio recordings of the specified program (see Repertoire) must be complete performances of the works, by the applicant, without any editing. Applicant must play straight through each piece. The preliminary selection of candidates will be a completely anonymous process, so there should be no spoken comments or any other means of identification on the audio recordings. You should keep one copy of your recording in case your CD is lost in transit.
A witness signature (member of a professional body, member of the clergy, or a municipal official) will be required, attesting that the CD is truly the candidate’s work and has not been edited. Audio CD recordings, accompanied by the CD Submission Form, must be postmarked on or before November 16, 2015 and should be mailed to: Longwood Gardens Attn: Organ Competition P.O. The application fee is $100 US dollars and is non-refundable. Application fees can be paid by credit card or check. Mastercard, Visa, Discover, Amex are accepted. Checks must be made payable to Longwood Gardens and must be in US currency drawn from a US domestic bank. All payment information should be submitted with the CD Submission Formand postmarked on or before Monday, November 16, 2015.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Accommodations & Transportation:
Longwood Gardens will provide round-trip transportation to the Philadelphia International Airport and ground transportation to Longwood Gardens. If competitors use alternative modes of transportation other than air travel, Longwood Gardens will provide ground travel. Longwood Gardens will provide lodging and all meals for each competitor.
