Which Membership level is right for me? 

Do you offer a Membership that allows me to bring a friend each visit?

  • Yes, the Individual Plus, Garden Plus, Rose Arbor, and Chimes Tower Membership levels offer general Gardens admission for additional guest(s) per day. Please visit the Membership Levels section of our website for further details. 

I am a person with a disability and need a caregiver to assist me with my visit.  What do you recommend?

  • You may purchase the Individual Plus or Garden Plus Membership which offers general Gardens admission for 1 additional guest per day. The caregiver will be considered the additional guest per visit.

Do you offer a Membership for two individuals?

Yes, we offer two Memberships to accommodate two individuals:

  1. The Dual Membership provides general Gardens admission and Member benefits for 2-named cardholders.
  2. The Individual Plus Membership provides general Gardens admission and Member benefits for 1-named cardholder, PLUS general Gardens admission for 1 additional guest per day.

Can my nanny/babysitter bring my children to the Gardens using my Garden Plus, Rose Arbor, or Chimes Tower Membership? 

  • Yes. Please visit Central Ticketing and we will put a sticker on your Membership cards allowing a childcare provider to bring children covered under your Membership to the Gardens. The childcare provider must present either the Primary or Secondary Members' cards.  The childcare provider will be considered an additional guest during each visit.

Do you offer a Membership for families with adult children?

  • Yes. The Garden Plus, Rose Arbor, and Chimes Tower levels offer general Gardens admission for additional guest(s) per day.  Please visit the Membership Levels section of our website for further details.

Do the primary and secondary cardholders need to live in the same household?

  • The 2 cardholders do not need to live in the same household, but the benefits of being a Member extend to only those 2-named Members and their children (or up to 4 grandchildren) age 18 and under. Please keep in mind that all Membership correspondence and mailings will be sent only to the primary cardholder.

Do I have to have a secondary cardholder?

  • For certain Membership levels, a secondary cardholder is part of the package. Membership benefits extend only to named cardholders, and where applicable, their children (or up to 4 grandchildren) age 18 and under. If you Membership includes a secondary cardholder, we strongly recommend that you name a second cardholder to take advantage of all the benefits of the level of Membership you selected.

Do you offer a Membership for students? 

  • Yes, we offer a Student Membership for students (of any age) with valid student ID. 

Do you offer any other types of discounted Membership?

  • Other than the Student Membership, we do not offer any other discounted Membership levels. You may apply a portion of your paid admission toward the cost of your Membership within 30 days of your dated receipt/ticket. Please make sure we have your updated email address on file as we periodically send out special promotions by email. 

Do you have two-year Memberships?

  • Yes, 2-year Memberships are available at all categories except the Student, Rose Arbor, and Chimes Tower levels.

Do you have a Lifetime Membership level?

  • We do not offer a Lifetime Membership and do not plan to offer this in the future.

How do I join? 

How do I become a Member?

  • Memberships are available for purchase online, in person at Central Ticketing, by calling 610.388.1000*, or by mail (download form here).  *Phone processing fees do not apply to Membership purchases.

Can I apply my paid admission to my Membership if I decide to join? 

  • Yes, you may apply a portion of your paid admission toward the cost of your Membership within 30 days of your dated receipt/ticket. The amount that you can apply depends on the category of Membership that you are purchasing. Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot apply this credit online.  Please inquire by phone at 610.388.1000*, or stop by Central Ticketing for specific details. *Phone processing fees do not apply to Membership purchases.

I joined, now what?

Thank you for your Membership purchase, here is what to expect:

  • I JOINED ONLINE: If you would like to visit Longwood Gardens soon, please bring your print-at-home temporary Membership card (received via email) for quick and easy access to the Gardens. Permanent Membership materials arrive in 4-6 weeks. 

  • I JOINED BY MAIL OR PHONE: If visiting Longwood Gardens prior to receiving your Membership packet in the mail, please stop by Central Ticketing and they will print a temporary pass for quick and easy access to the Gardens.  Permanent Membership materials arrive in 4-6 weeks. 

Can I change the name(s) on my Membership after purchase? 

  • You may change the name(s) on your Membership at the time of renewal. If you just joined (within the past four weeks), and wish to change the name(s) on your card, you must return all of your current Membership cards to be issued cards with the new name(s).

Can I upgrade to a higher level of Membership? 

Yes, with the following options: 

  1. If you have less than 2 months left on your Membership:
    If you wish to upgrade any time less than 2 months prior to your renewal date, you will be asked to submit payment in full for the upgraded level. You will be given all of the benefits of the Membership level you have upgraded into and we will extend your Membership a full year from its current expiration date.
  2. If you have more than 2 months left on your Membership:
    We will extend your Membership for a full year from today's date and give you credit for the unused portion of your Membership. Call us today to learn how at 610.388.1000.
  3. The option to upgrade from a Dual Membership to an Individual Plus Membership is available upon returning both Dual Membership cards. The Secondary Member from the Dual Membership will no longer share Membership benefits or Gardens admission on their own.

Can I downgrade to a different Membership level? 

  • The option to downgrade your Membership level is available at your time of renewal.

When will my Membership expire?

  • Your Membership is valid for 1 year from the date you purchased it. If you have purchased a 2-year Membership, then it is valid for two years from the date of purchase.  You can always email membership@longwoodgardens.org or call 610.388.1000 to inquire about your expiration date. 

Why isn't the tax deductible amount of my Membership 100% of what I paid? 

  • Each Membership (except Student level) comes with 2 complimentary guest tickets (4 tickets for 2 year Memberships). These guest tickets have a value of $18 each. The tax-deductible portion of your Membership is the purchase price of your Membership minus $36 (for 1 year Memberships) or $72 (for 2 year Memberships).

What are my Member benefits? 

What are the benefits of being a Member?

  • Benefits include year-round admission to the Gardens, 10% discounts on dining at The Terrace: Cafe and 1906, 10% discount in The GardenShop, and up to 15% discount on specially ticketed events. Please click here to view the full list of Member benefits.  Member Discounts cannot be applied to alcohol purchases.  

Do Member benefits apply to my plus guests for the Individual Plus, Garden Plus, Rose Arbor, or Chimes Tower Memberships?

  • Member benefits apply only to named cardholders.

Do I receive complimentary 1-time use guest tickets with my Membership? 

  • All levels, except for the Student Membership, include complimentary 1-time use guest tickets. You will receive 2 at the 1-year level and 4 at the 2-year level.

  • Complimentary guest tickets are mailed when purchasing Memberships via the web, by mail or phone unless you specifically request they be held at will call prior to us mailing them out. Because of the value associated with our complimentary guest tickets, we cannot accommodate requests to issue them onsite when Membership is purchased via web, mail, or phone. If you purchase a Membership onsite you will receive them immediately and they may be used immediately. 

*Complimentary guest tickets are for one-time general admission. Specially ticketed events, including Nightscape (July1-Oct 30, 2015), and blackout date restrictions apply on December 26-January 1, and all       Saturdays and Sundays during A Longwood Christmas display.

Do I receive a discount on general gardens admission for my guests?

  • Yes, below is a breakdown of admissions discounts.
  • Adults is $18, regularly $20
  • Seniors (age 62+) is $15, regularly $17
  • Students (ages 5-18 or with valid student ID) is $10, no discount
  • Children (ages 4 and under) - FREE 
  • Or, you can add a Bring Friends Package to your Membership! 

What is the Bring Friends Package?

The Bring Friends Package is a block of 10 discounted general admission tickets that will be loaded onto your active Membership card upon purchase.

  1. The opportunity to purchase a Bring Friends Package is a Members-only opportunity. If you would like to bring a group of friends to Longwood Gardens, please consider becoming a Member and adding on a Bring Friends Package.  For visits of 15 or more, you may also want to consider organizing your visit through our Group Visits office. 

  2. Members who have purchased a Bring Friends Package need to accompany the guests using the Bring Friends Package tickets. Simply present your active Membership card with photo ID to a Guest Service Representative to redeem your ticket(s). Bring Friends tickets are valid on the day they are printed only. 

  3. At any time, you may ask at Central Ticketing to check your record for the number of tickets remaining on your Bring Friends Package.
  4. Bring Friends Packages expire after 2 years and are only valid while your Membership is active.  
  5. These specially discounted tickets may not be upgraded to special event tickets, including Nightscape.

Are there other discounts I can receive with my Membership card?

  • Absolutely, Members receive discounts at select area garden centers and nurseries, as well as at select Brandywine Valley attractions. Please visit our Member Discounts page for details.
