Fireworks and Fountains illuminate the night sky at Longwood Gardens May 25, July 3 & 20, August 17 & 31, September 14. Three different programs to enjoy.

KENNETT SQUARE, PA –Longwood Gardens presents six fireworks and fountains shows guaranteed to make your summer memorable. This year, enjoy Festive Fireworks: Music of Dmitri Shostakovich featuring celebrated works from the Russian composer.  Celebrate America on July 3 with well-known favorites from John Philips Sousa, Irving Berlin and more. Finally, salute the music of Elton John with Rocket Man: Music of Elton John featuring popular hits from this iconic performer. Festive Fireworks: Music of Dmitri Shostakovich features the music of Russian Composer Dmitri Shostakovich. The program opens with Shostakovich’s joyful Festival Overture, written in 1954, and continues with his Jazz Suite No. 2, dating from 1938.  Exciting Russian dances that go hand-in-hand with boisterous fireworks bring the show to a blazing finale.

Celebrate America features patriotic favorites, including John Philip Sousa’s The Stars and Stripes, Richard Rodgers’ Victory at Sea, Irving Berlin’s God Bless America, and more.

Rocket Man: Music of Elton John spotlights popular hits from iconic pop star Sir Elton John. Enjoy Philadelphia Freedom, Candle in the Wind, Rocket Man and more before the program comes to an electrifying finale with Saturday Night’s All Right for Fighting.

Ticket Information

Admission is by advance-sale ticket only and tickets are limited. Fireworks & Fountains tickets provide all-day admission to the Gardens. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, which provide the best viewing experience. Blankets are not permitted. Chairs can be rented on-site or online for a nominal fee of $5 each while supplies last. Chairs cannot be put into place for viewing the show until 3 pm. Tickets prices are:

  • Child……$22 (15 & UNDER)
  • Garden Pass Member Adult ……………$31
  • Garden Pass Member Child……………$18

Special group rates for 15 or more people are available.  A decision to delay or postpone under severe weather conditions is made normally 15 minutes prior to show time, based on local weather conditions at Longwood. Fireworks have been used at Longwood since at least 1907, the year after Pierre du Pont (1870-1954) purchased the property.  The famed Fireworks and Fountains shows, which attract 5,000 people, are operated by carefully synchronized computer programs, and the music is chosen to complement the displays.

Fireworks BBQ

Before each Fireworks show enjoy tasty summer fare at Longwood’s Summer Barbecues. Featuring a selection of summer favorites cooked to order on the grill as well as other delicious picnic fare, these fun barbeques are a great way to relax before the dazzling fireworks show. Special tickets and reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 610-388-1000. Barbeque ticket prices are $32 for ages 12 and over/$29 for Members; $19 for ages 5-11/$18 Members; and $5 for ages 1-4. Garden Pass Members receive a discount.  The barbeque is served from 3-7:30 pm.
