Orchid Extravaganza – Now through March 31
Immerse yourself in a dazzling world of orchids as Longwood transforms its Conservatory into a lush oasis showcasing the divas of the plant world. Highlights include a romantic Valentine's Dinner in the Conservatory, family-friendly OrKID Days, the Jazz Club featuring Grammy-winning trumpeter Terence Blanchard and vocalist Jane Monheit, a Clivia Show, a celebration of Samuel Barber with Curtis on Tour, and the return of the International Orchid Show and Sale in March.
Making Scents: The Art and Passion of Fragrance - beginning April 10, 2010
Longwood Gardens takes you inside the unmapped universe of scent with Making Scents: The Art and Passion of Fragrance, an interactive exhibition that explores the art, science and mystery of fragrance. Experience plants and flowers in an immersive sensory environment. Explore the mysterious power of scent. Discover the creative artistry and intricate science behind fragrance. Make your own fragrance and take home a personalized scent card. Engage your senses in this magical exhibition as you see, touch and smell Longwood’s fragrant world.
Lilytopia – May 21 through 31, 2010
Inspired by the world-famous lily show at Holland’s Keukenhof, Lilytopia is Longwood’s newest annual event, transforming its majestic East Conservatory into a breathtaking showcase for the newest varieties of lilies developed by Dutch hybridizers. More than 10,000 stems are featured in innovative displays representing the newest European trends.School's Out Mondays
