Longwood employs year-round part-time employees in a wide range of positions. Part-time employees work a variety of hours, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays. All part-time employees receive free access to the Gardens, additional complimentary Gardens passes, a discount at the Gardens Shop, and a discount in the Terrace Restaurant cafeteria while working. Equipment Operator-Part Time
Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate various pieces of equipment such as a compost turner, screener, wheel loader, hook-lift truck, forklift, and others necessary to carry out Longwood’s compost program goals. Assist in the mixing and delivery of soils materials at the site, assist with materials transfer, and perform other organizational recycling endeavors as needed.
Qualifications:
This is a year-round part-time position for an average of 32 hours per week. Some weekend, evening, and holiday hours may be needed. Prior experience in equipment operation is required. Those with a valid commercial driver’s license are preferred applicants; but others who possess a clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and a desire to advance their operating skills are still encouraged to apply.
