Seasonal Job Opportunities

Longwood employs seasonal employees in all areas of the Gardens beginning as early as March for the Spring and Summer season. Hours vary by position. All seasonal employees receive free access to the Gardens, a discount at the Gardens Shop, and a discount at the Terrace Restaurant cafeteria when working. EOE.


Greenhouse Production

Seasonal employees working in the Production Division have the opportunity to work with staff gardeners in the various production areas, assisting with a variety of tasks.  These may include seeding, potting, pinching, pruning, staking and tying, watering, fertilizing, and transporting containerized plants in greenhouse and some outdoor environments.  

Working as a seasonal employee in Longwood’s Production Division is an excellent way to gain or improve your hands-on gardening knowledge and experience as you work with professional gardeners in an exceptional display garden.  Applicants with prior horticultural knowledge or experience are preferred, but we will also train motivated individuals. 

To operate vehicles and equipment, applicants must be at least eighteen years old with a valid driver’s license.
