Bodies of Water

Plunge into the depths of bodies of water and explore Longwood's fountains, lakes, and other water sources while learning how water is vital to the survival of all living things. Experiment with water and discover how to keep not only the world's water healthy, but our bodies too. Explore how Longwood practices water conservation and how you can protect this natural resource at home.

Explore Longwood's different ecosystems while journaling the wonders of nature through digital photography. Speak with Longwood experts as they highlight different ecological areas within the Gardens while you capture amazing images and create digital stories using Photo Story 3. Enjoy fun, hands-on, garden-based projects all week long.

Zooming in on Nature: Digital Photography

For students entering grades 7, 8, or 9

Learn the key elements of digital photography while taking photographs that convey the magnificence of our Gardens. Develop skills to capture and communicate nature's beauty in this one-week camp. Digital camera provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Let's Move! Nutrition and Fitness

For students entering grades 3 or 4

Explore the Gardens while learning where your food comes from and how plants provide us with nutrients necessary for a healthy lifestyle. Discover ways to stay fit as you experiment with healthy eating habits and challenge yourself in physical activities. Develop strategies throughout the week that encourage a healthy future.

Meet Me in the Tree House

Join us for an adventure inspired by Nature's Castles, Longwood's magnificent tree houses. Students explore reading and writing in this fabulous garden setting with instructors Patty Koller and Andi Ries.

What's the Buzz?

For students entering grades 4 or 5

Price: $225 before June 8; $240 after June 8

Come discover the cool insects and plants at Longwood Gardens with instructors Patty Koller and Andi Reis. Take daily excursions into the Gardens and use your discoveries as inspiration for reading and writing. Explore multiple genres of writing and polish one or more of your written pieces for publication.
