Practical Experience

Four professional horticulture students stand in water in their overalls to work in Longwood's Conservatory

Students also enjoy study abroad travel in their second year, during which they explore global horticulture, expand their cultural awareness, and learn through immersion in foreign public and private gardens, commercial greenhouses, nurseries, and botanical centers.

Over the last three months of the program, students can choose where in the Gardens they want to focus, learn, and specialize—making the program highly personalized to fit individual needs.

Students participate in several areas of horticulture
