The Longwood Grant for Title I Schools provides the opportunity for schools with 30% or more of the student population qualifying for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program to receive transportation reimbursement of up to $500 per bus and return coupons for admission when traveling to our Gardens for an educator-guided or self-guided field trip.
How To Apply
Complete and submit a field trip request form.
Check "Yes" for "Please email me information and an application for the Longwood Grant for Title 1 Schools." A link to the online grant application and additional information will be sent via email. Please allow up to two business days.
Receive confirmation of the school group field trip date.
Complete the online grant application.
What does the Grant Include?
Reimbursement for transportation costs of up to $500 per bus and return coupons for the students.
Additional Details
The Longwood Grant for Title 1 Schools is available to school groups of 15 or more students visiting the Gardens as an educator or self-guided school group between March 11 and June 7, 2024.
Transportation Reimbursement
Transportation funds are limited and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Transportation fund reimbursement is available for “yellow” school buses only.
All transportation reimbursements will be issued to the school or school district after the date of the visit.
Longwood Gardens is not responsible for deposits or payments due before or on the date of your visit.
Transportation reimbursement checks are not able to be issued to bus companies, third parties, or individuals.
Reimbursement amount will be issued for the actual expense provided on the final invoice, up to a maximum of $500 per bus.
Additional staffing i.e. school nurses, are not reimbursable through the Grant.
Return Coupons
Return coupons are valid through August 31, 2024, and may be used for up to five free general admission tickets. Student must be present to redeem coupon.
Return coupons are not valid for special ticketed events and have no cash value.
