Fellows Field Placement

Fellows spend two months at individualized field placement sites, studying and learning about their host organization and its structure, culture, and approach to staff management and leadership. International Fellows will be placed at a U.S. site, while domestic Fellows are highly encouraged to choose a placement site abroad. Placement sites include those gardens with which Longwood has established memoranda of agreement.

Fellows are expected to contribute to their host organizations by attending meetings, working on specific assignments, and making recommendations based on their discoveries. The success of their placements will be evaluated by the field placement site supervisor and the Program Director, using established criteria.
