Longwood employs seasonal employees in all areas of the Gardens. Hours vary by position. All seasonal employees receive free access to the Gardens, a discount at the Gardens Shop, and a discount at the Terrace Restaurant cafeteria when working.

Security Officer

The seasonal Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of guests, employees, and the properties at Longwood Gardens.  Individuals must have the personality and ability to deal well with the public and fellow employees.  Previous security experience preferred. This position requires the ability to work a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Summer Camp Assistant Instructor

Longwood Gardens has an opening for a seasonal summer camp assistant instructor. This position is responsible for assisting in daily camp activities for children ages 6-12. Candidates must have a genuine interest in nature and the capability of walking long distances in summer temperatures. The preferred candidate will have completed at least one year of an undergraduate degree program in education and have some summer camp experience. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, be available for training, and be willing to supervise summer camp lunches. Candidate will work five weeks, Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-4:30 pm June 27 through August 5 (no camp July 6-10).

Summer Camp Instructor

Longwood Gardens has an opening for a seasonal part-time summer camp instructor. This position is responsible for the implementation and daily functions of the five-week morning summer camp programs for children ages 6-12 (http://longwoodgardens.org/education/family-and-kids/summer-camps). Candidates must have a genuine interest in nature and the capability of walking long distances in summer temperatures. The preferred candidate will have prior teaching experience, as well as summer camp leadership experience. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be available for training. Candidate will work five weeks, Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-12:30 pm June 27 through August 5 (no camp July 6-10).
