Get a feel for the water cycle and gain a deeper understanding of water in its various forms and locations through a combination of classroom discussion and outdoor exploration.
Coverage will include streams, wetlands, aquatic life, watersheds, precipitation, infiltration, runoff, groundwater, and evapotranspiration. We will discuss why water is so essential and why it is becoming an increasingly scarce resource. Join us as we lay some key hydrologic groundwork in the classroom and then go outside to use Longwood’s varied grounds as the backdrop for an interpretive, interactive walk to discover obvious and not-so-obvious places where water resides. Come prepared to dive into our subject and perhaps get a little wet.
This is a one session class on September 27 at 9:30 am-12:30 pm.
