Start your day with a welcome and presentation from a guest speaker and join us for an overview of the day's activities. Be introduced to K–8 programs, high school programs, and professional development opportunities. Engage in conversation with Longwood Educators and learn about current and upcoming programs available on-site and online for you and your students.
Admission to the Gardens for this special event is free for all teachers with a valid school ID. Admission to Nightscape is not included. Buy before you arrive. Special ticket required. Tickets limited.
Schedule of Events
9:00–10:00 am − Registration
Check-in at the registration table and receive a packet of materials to prepare you for your day at the Gardens. All registered educators will receive a dining dollars card to use towards lunch at our Terrace Restaurant. You must be present at registration to receive your dining dollars card.
10:15–11:00 am − Guest Speaker and Welcome
Start your day in the Gardens with a welcome and special presentation from the Manager of K−12 Programs at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Join us for an overview of the day’s activities and light refreshments.
11:00 am–4:00 pm − Education Showcase
Visit us in the Catalpa Classroom throughout the day to learn about our K–12 lessons, professional development opportunities, and resources for teachers, including the Longwood Title I Grant. Talk with Longwood Educators, preview programs available to you and your students, and enter a raffle for a chance to win a variety of prizes.
11:30 am–3:15 pm − Curriculum-based Lessons
Experience our curriculum-based lessons in the Gardens taught by Longwood Educators. Meet in front of the Catalpa Classroom at least five minutes before the lesson begins.
11:30 am–3:15 pm − Presentations
Join us in the Founder’s Room for a variety of presentations and hands-on workshops that will provide you with new ideas for your classroom. Space in all presentations is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
