Bluebirds will be moving right into the most environmentally friendly birdhouse in the neighborhood.
We will provide birdhouses that have a special plant-able roof and that are designed to protect bluebirds from predators. Ongoing research at Longwood is showing that green-roof birdhouses stay cooler in hot weather. A variety of winter hardy sedums especially suited for green roofs have been selected for you to plant. Learn about planting medium and how to care for your green roof. Once your house is complete, we’ll discuss the best placement to keep those feathered friends winging their way to your yard.
This is a one session class on March 28, 9:00–11:00 am.
