Welcome to Longwood Learning!

Longwood provides world class horticultural learning at all levels—from individuals with a passing interest to those who make horticulture a central part of their lives.

K-8 & High School Programs

Bring your students to a hands-on, living, learning adventure that educates children and youth of all ages and skill levels. The Gardens are the perfect place to expand young guests' horizons with a variety of innovative and fun programs.

Courses are available for teachers through Longwood Gardens and West Chester University. Courses are available both onsite and online.

Co-Op Program for High School and Undergrad Technical School Students

Longwood offers a Co-Op program for students enrolled in their senior year of high school or enrolled in an undergraduate technical college program.

Internships

Our College Internship Program and International Gardener Training Program offer hands-on experience to prepare individuals for careers in horticulture and related arts and sciences.

Professional Gardener Program

The two-year Professional Gardener Program combines a rigorous academic curriculum with hands-on training to prepare individuals for careers in horticulture.

Longwood Graduate Program

The Longwood Graduate Program at the University of Delaware helps students who are already competent and experienced in ornamental horticulture to train for a leadership career in public horticulture.

Continuing Education

Lectures, Courses, and Workshops offered by our Continuing Education department allow students—from hobbyists to professional gardeners—to develop their skills and knowledge.

Library & Archives

Longwood Gardens' Library and Archives offers materials in horticulture, botany, and the allied arts and sciences, as well as a wealth of resources on Longwood's history.
