Explore the historic indoor and outdoor Gardens to discover the world of plants and insects. Scouts will use magnifying glasses to identify fern spores and visit our soil shed to observe Longwood’s composting initiative.
Appropriate for Ages 8–9. During the two-hour program the Scout group will complete the following Bears Furs, Feathers and Ferns Adventure Badge requirements: visit a public garden, identify signs of life in the area, name a plant that is extinct in the wild, use a magnifying glass to examine plants, learn about composting and plant something. Scouts will receive a Scout Activity Booklet and earn a Longwood Fun Patch.
Advance registration required. This group program is available for Troops or Dens up to 30 Scouts; based on availability.
