Winter can be an ideal time to identify dormant trees and shrubs using a variety of clues. Learn to identify common native and non-native trees and shrubs by buds, twigs, bark, and form. Participants will gain experience using botanical keys that will be provided. Classroom discussion will use slides, cut twigs, and identification keying exercises. The class will spend part of the afternoon identifying trees outdoors, weather permitting.

Dress for the outdoor weather.
