Kusamono are potted arrangements of wild grasses and flowers in unique pots or trays selected to suggest a season, place, or natural habitat. Join US National Arboretum’s Kusamono artist Young Choe, for a hands-on experience in this Japanese botanical art. Learn characteristic styles, methods for creation, display techniques, and care for Kusamono. Through a lecture and demonstration, Young will share her expertise and enthusiasm for these accent plantings that are often paired with bonsai displays. You’ll have the opportunity to create your own Kusamono to take home and enjoy.
