Discover a collection of garden favorites that will add a burst of color and texture to your landscape while learning the fundamentals of plant identification. Join us for this six-week, online, self-paced class featuring popular annuals, perennials, vines, and groundcovers that can be grown throughout the nation. Through brief lectures, online fact pages, an e-book, flashcards, vocabulary games, mystery plants, and hundreds of beautiful images, you will learn the key identifying characteristics of these plants and how to use them in the landscape while gaining the skills to identify other plants you’ll encounter outside of the class.
This is a fully online, self-paced, non-credit course. You can participate anywhere that you have access to the internet. You will have access to the course resources 24/7 for the entire six weeks of the class and an additional six months after the course ends. There are no required presentations or any set times that you will need to meet online. There will be several scheduled live sessions with the instructor or guest speakers, but these are optional and will be recorded and available to watch on your own time.
For an additional fee, you may choose to purchase an optional print copy of the online e-book that is included with the course.
This course counts as a three-week elective toward a Certificate in Landscape Design.
