About this Performance

Contemporary and endlessly innovative in their approach, Dreamers’ Circus is a driving force in Nordic world music. Fresh off their fifth album Blue White Gold (2020), awarded Album of the Year by the Danish Music Awards, this young Danish trio of Nikolaj Busk on piano and accordion; Ale Carr on Nordic cittern; and Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen, also of the Danish String Quartet, on violin draws inspiration from the deep traditions of regional folk music and reshapes them into something bright, shiny, and new.

More about Dreamers Circus

Collaborating regularly with the Danish String Quartet and the Copenhagen Philharmonic, Dreamers’ Circus reshapes music from Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, and the far reaches of the Faroe Islands and Greenland. The trio has won five prestigious Danish Music Awards and has toured in Europe, Japan, Australia, and beyond, with their first US tour in 2019 opening ears, eyes, minds, and hearts. An adventurous attitude, coupled with outstanding musicianship, has brought the band to the forefront of the Nordic folk and world music scene.

In 2020, Dreamers' Circus released their fifth album, Blue White Gold, on Vertical Records and was awarded Album of the Year by the Danish Music Awards 2020.
Dreamers’ Circus views their traditional roots as a point of departure and know tradition should not be a straitjacket. This adventurous attitude, coupled with their outstanding musicianship, has brought the band to the forefront of the Nordic folk and world music scene.
