Signature Plants
Longwood’s Show Stoppers
Like any great production, we have a few select plants that are unanimously considered the “stars of the show.” While these signature plants each possess their own special “talent,” they all draw guests from around the country and the world at certain times of the year.

Blue-poppies
Once considered a myth, blue-poppies are alive and thriving today at Longwood Gardens.

Cannas
At Longwood, cannas provide critical height in the borders and in the Conservatory.

Chrysanthemums
Creating our specialty chrysanthemum forms is a year-long process that takes patience and time.

Cinerarias
For many years, ‘Cornflower Blue’ cineraria has been a traditional crop in the late winter/early spring displays.

Clivias
Beautiful blossoms add bursts of color to our East Conservatory from late winter into spring.

Poinsettias
Our tree-form poinsettias can reach heights of seven feet with heads measuring five feet in diameter.
