Sight and smell team up to create a memorable experience in this Garden.
Row upon row of colorful roses dazzle the eyes while beautiful fragrances fill the nose. The roses are complemented by Chinese hibiscus plants and flowering tropical vines.
Pierre S. du Pont used this greenhouse beginning in the 1920s to grow roses for cutting and displaying in the winter months. Following his death in 1954, Chinese hibiscus plants were added to the terraced beds to extend seasonal interest and flowering vines were added in the 1970s to provide a colorful background year round.
