In keeping with Pierre S. du Pont’s desire to establish “a school where students and others may receive instruction in the arts of horticulture and floriculture, education is integral to our mission.
We proudly offer a vibrant selection of world-class learning opportunities for both children and adults.
Our educational programs are broad and range from classes for students as young as five to degree-granting graduate programs for those pursuing a career in horticulture. These offerings distinguish us from other public gardens and speak to Mr. du Pont’s posthumous wishes that we continue as an institution committed to both education and instruction.
As early as the mid-1950s we were offering continuing education for adults, including our first International Gardener Program.
