Professional Horticulture Program

A person wearing a green sweatshirt, cap with Longwood logo, and orange gloves, smiles broadly at the camera while crouching in a colorful garden with hands full of mulch.

The Professional Horticulture Program combines hands-on, immersive learning with classroom experience to train and prepare future horticulturists for successful careers. It is a life-changing, exciting, and inspiring opportunity. Since it began in 1970, almost 350 graduates have gone on to meaningful and successful careers.

We are evaluating and evolving the program in preparation for our next cohort, which will begin in January 2027. More information will be published in Fall 2025. Join our mailing list to receive program and application information.
