During this insightful virtual lecture, join P.S. du Pont Fellow and fountain choreographer Colvin Randall for an exploration of fountains and water gardening at Longwood: past, present, and future.
From the moment Pierre S. du Pont, visionary founder of Longwood Gardens, first viewed the incredible waterworks of the Machinery Hall at the 1976 Centennial celebration in Philadelphia, he was destined to create a garden landscape filled with beautiful pools, flowing streams, and stunning fountains. Today, nearly 120 years since Mr. du Pont purchased the land for Longwood in 1906, the Gardens are filled with water features that evoke both the natural world and famous gardens from around the globe.
