Application

The Longwood Organ Academy is open to individuals 18-30 years old who are currently enrolled in an organ degree program.

Applications are no longer being accepted for the 2018 Longwood Organ Academy. Please check back for future application dates.

Application Process

Applications must include the following:

  • Completed Application
  • An audio or video recording of 1–2 pieces that is 10–15 minutes in length (see Audition Requirements below)
  • The audition pieces' sheet music
  • A letter of recommendation from your current organ professor
  • A brief biography in English (maximum 150 words)

Audition Requirements

Each applicant must be a student currently enrolled in an organ degree program. Students must submit an audio or video recording of 1–2 pieces that is 10–15 minutes in length. The recording must include at least one transcription of an orchestral overture, or comparable orchestral work, of at least 6 minutes in duration. The orchestral transcription may be an original transcription or one that has previously been published. Students must provide a copy of their audition pieces’ sheet music, preferably in PDF form.

Accommodations & Transportation

Students who are accepted and will attend the Academy are expected to pay the tuition of $1,000. Tuition includes housing, meals, and local transportation during the Academy as well as to and from the Philadelphia International Airport.
