Nightscape Director's Statement

Director’s Statement

For Klip Collective, the future of art is creating experience as art.

Our intention for Nightscape was to create an immersive, sensory experience using color, light, movement, and sound to transform Longwood Gardens into a living canvas.

In Akira Kurosawa’s film Dreams, there is a scene in which a small boy escapes into the woods and encounters a parading skulk of foxes. It’s a moment of discovery where uncertainty turns to amazement. We wanted Nightscape to inspire similar dreamlike moments that encourage people to wander in their imaginations the same way that they wander the Gardens: with excitement, wonder, and expectation.
