Continuing Education Terms and Conditions

Refund Policy

If you cancel your Continuing Education or Conference registration, your registration fee (less $30.00 processing fee) will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received at least two weeks before the event. Refunds are not available for programs moved to scheduled inclement weather dates. To notify us of your cancellation, email continuingeducation@longwoodgardens.org or call 610-388-5454.

Photos/Video

During your visit, you may be filmed, videotaped, or photographed by a Longwood employee or contract photographer. Your attendance serves as permission for the use of your image by Longwood and its constituents.

Weather

In the event of inclement weather, we will notify you via email if there is a schedule change.

Accessibility and Accommodations

We have prepared course content and learning spaces, both online and on-site, with accessibility in mind. Please contact Continuing Education to request further information or accommodations: continuingeducation@longwoodgardens.org or (610) 388-5242.

Conduct

While unacceptable conduct is not anticipated from participants, Longwood Gardens retains the right to dismiss any participant, including in situations where conduct impedes the ability of staff and other participants to proceed with the program.

Attendance

Attendance is not required for every Longwood Gardens course, though some instructors grade students based on attendance. Please consult your individual course syllabi to determine whether and how attendance impacts your grade. If you anticipate missing a class that counts toward your grade, please discuss your attendance directly with your instructor.

All online class meetings conducted via Zoom are recorded and posted to the Online Classroom within 48 hours of the class unless student presentations occurred during the meeting. Though this allows for review of the lecture and discussion, particularly for those unable to attend synchronously, students are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in class whenever possible.

Late Work

Due dates for assignments are listed on course syllabi. Students are strongly encouraged to complete and submit assignments on time to ensure that they receive grades and feedback in a timely manner. We understand that situations arise that may prevent you from completing assignments on time. Extensions are to be discussed and agreed upon on a case-by-case basis by the instructor and student. If you anticipate needing an extension, please contact your instructor directly to discuss. All work should be completed and turned in no later than one week after the course end date, unless otherwise stated by or discussed with the instructor.

Plagiarism and Academic Integrity

Using someone else's thoughts or ideas without properly giving credit is plagiarism. When using or presenting information in order to complete an assignment students are expected to properly cite the sources for any text, images, or other media used.

If a participant is suspected of plagiarism, they may be asked to complete an assignment again. If the incident is significant or the plagiarism is chronic, Longwood Gardens retains the right to dismiss that participant from the class or program.
