Our vision for the Gardens—to become a world apart, a place accessible to all—is the driving force behind all that we do.
This aspiration spurred us to embark upon an extensive planning process in 2008 to define our mission, vision, and brand as well as short- and long-term strategies and expansion projects that would ultimately transform the Gardens into a place of outstanding beauty and significance.
This process lasted for four years and culminated in the development of the following guiding documents:
- Visionary Master Plan (comprised of a Research Report, Strategic Plan and Facilities Master Plan)
- Heritage Master Plan
- Interpretive Plan
- Brand Plan
Collectively, these documents align our priorities and provide us with a blueprint for decision making and long-range resource allocation. Perhaps more importantly, however, they tie together our many enterprises to create one cohesive Garden, united under a shared mission and vision.
