Fee includes lunch and all-day admission to the Gardens on the day of the class.

During this professional development opportunity held in the beauty of our Gardens, learn about nature journaling and how to implement PA Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy & Sustainability (STEELS) standards in your classroom, all while earning four Act 48 hours.  Delve into the benefits of incorporating nature into your classroom and the how-tos of nature journaling. Explore our Gardens while practicing the craft of nature journaling, and creating a sample nature journal to take back and use in your classroom. Recommended for educators in grades K-5. Lunch and all materials included.    

STEELS Standards:

This workshop helps PA teachers to meet the following STEELS standards: 

3.4.K-2.C - Explain ways that places differ in their physical characteristics, their meaning, and their value and/or importance.

3.4.3-5.A - Analyze how living organisms, including humans, affect the environment in which they live, and how their environment affects them
