During this professional development opportunity held in the beauty of our Gardens, focus on exploring nature and how to implement PA Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy & Sustainability (STEELS) standards in your classroom, all while earning two Act 48 hours.
Dig into the science and learning potential of preparing and using container gardens in your classroom or schoolyard, tour behind-the-scenes and participate in hands-on activities. Take home materials to create your own classroom container garden, ready-made for actively engaging your students in three-dimensional learning with a focus on Environmental Literacy & Sustainability and Life Sciences standards. Recommended for educators in grades 3-5. Light refreshments provided. All materials included.

This workshop helps PA teachers to meet the following STEELS standards:
3.4.3-5.B Make a claim about the environmental and social impacts of design solutions and civic actions, including their own actions.
3.4.3-5.A Analyze how living organisms, including humans, affect the environment in which they live, and how their environment affects them
