Join botanical artist Diana Heitzman in this three-part intermediate to advanced course focused on painting native plants and their pollinators.
Start with an online orientation and review of botanical illustration principles to get you ready to paint a pairing of a plant and its pollinator. Then, join Heitzman at the Kennett Library to begin your painting. Choose from a selection of cut native flowers and blooms from our Meadow Garden to help define your subject, then learn more about its matching pollinators and choose which to feature in your work. During the second in-person session, workshop your painting and gain insight from Heitzman on the illustration process. In between the two sessions, you’ll be able to take your chosen plant subject home to work at your own pace.
This class is intended for people with intermediate and advanced sketching and painting experience.
