Take an interpretive hike focused on the often-overlooked canopy of Longwood’s natural areas. Get a taste of forest ecology, forensics, and an introduction to dendrochronology as you walk among the tallest tulip trees (Liriodendron tulipifera) in the Northeast. Investigate the trees that captured the heart of our founder, Pierre S. du Pont, and ultimately led to the establishment of Longwood.

This is a rain-or-shine outdoor experience unless severe weather occurs. Dress for all types of weather and wear comfortable walking shoes, as you may be walking on uneven paths and wet areas.
