A Longwood Christmas

  • Review our General Guidelines
  • Check our homepage for real-time ticket and Member reservation availability (during our Christmas season)
  • Visit on non-peak dates to avoid crowds
  • Come Early! Arrive by 2:00 pm and you’ll miss the evening rush of traffic and still have time to explore all the Brandywine Valley has to offer after your visit to the Gardens. Keep in mind, traffic may become heavy approaching Longwood Gardens between 3:00 and 7:00 pm.
  • Be Prepared, Avoid the Lines. Print Your timed Member reservations and tickets at home and show them upon entry to avoid lines. Or, go paperless and open your print-at-home tickets on your smartphone prior to entering the Visitor Center.
  • Parking is Free and Our Remote Lot Will Be Used. Transportation is provided from remote parking areas. Handicap parking with your permit is available in the main lot.
  • Using Complimentary Tickets? Many Complimentary Admission Tickets are not valid on Peak Days during A Longwood Christmas. Check your tickets as some restrictions may apply.
  • Getting Around the Gardens. Shuttle service is not provided. Scooters, wheelchairs, and strollers are available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Visitor Center. Electric scooters are not available during inclement weather.
  • Outdoor Lights Begin to come on at 3:30 pm. And our Open Air Theatre fountain shows run continuously throughout the evening (please note the Main Fountain Garden fountains are turned off for the season and will return in May 2018).
  • Bundle Up! A Longwood Christmas is both indoors and outdoors. Please dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes.
  • Shop and Dine. Our Café, 1906Beer Garden, concessions, and The GardenShop are all available for you. Make a reservation for your visit day in our fine dining restaurant, 1906, at opentable.com.
  • Be Our Guest. Once you enter the Gardens, you may stay as long as you wish. If you wish to leave and re-enter—no problem. Just be sure to stamp your hand.
  • Use Our Interactive Map. Visit longwoodgardens.org/maps/christmas on your smartphone to help navigate the display and see all of the locations throughout the Gardens filled with Christmas cheer.

For Our Members during A Longwood Christmas

    • Members may visit anytime, but require free, timed reservations if arriving after 2:00 pm every day. Gardens Premium Members and those included in their Membership do not require reservations. Reservations are limited, and sell out is likely. With a timed Member reservation, you may enter the Gardens as early as 30 minutes before or as late as 30 minutes after your entry time. Late or early arrivals cannot be accommodated. Stay as long as you wish once you enter the Gardens.
    • Guests not included in a Membership require a timed admission ticket. We cannot accommodate a Member's request for tickets if we are sold out. You may also upgrade your Membership to a level that allows you to bring guests any time you visit the Gardens.
    • To avoid lines we encourage you to print your Member reservations at home and show them upon entry. Or, go paperless and open your print-at-home tickets on your smartphone prior to entering the Visitor Center for scanning.  Watch a quick tutorial on how to make a free reservation.
    • Complimentary Admission Tickets can be used on Non-Peak Days. However, many comp tickets are not valid on Peak Days during A Longwood Christmas. Check your tickets as some restrictions may apply.
