During this hands-on photography workshop, join us in the Gardens to get incredible shots of moving water while learning the secrets of capturing water’s intricate details.
Using Longwood’s abundant water features as our subject, practice with different shutter speeds to create smooth flowing landscapes and to freeze the action of the fountain splashes; create artistic abstracts with reflections on the moving water; and use backlighting and small flashes to create energetic still images.
Participants will need a tripod, ND filter (5-stop and 10-stop or a variable ND), polarizer filter, and a small flash if they have one. It is recommended to bring whatever lens you’re comfortable with using—from a small zoom to a wide-angle lens and even a fisheye lens if preferred. Feel free to experiment with equipment to create striking images
