Following the flurry of spring growth, summer features blooms of familiar native favorites—oakleaf hydrangeas, roses, phlox, beardtongue, milkweed, and elderberry, along with such woodland treats as sweetbay magnolia, tulip poplar, linden, and catalpa—and these summer-bloomers are not only beautiful, but ecologically important.
Join co-owner and operator of Redbud Native Plant Nursery Julie Snell in an online lecture exploring the summer garden through an ecological lens. Gather knowledge about summer-blooming native plants, their role as host plants, and the importance of them in a garden. Then, join us in our Gardens to see these native plants in action.
