Instructor

Kevin Bielicki, Matt Turner

Kevin Bielicki holds an MFA in sculpture from IUPUI and a Minor in Art History from the University of Delaware. While working towards these degrees, he assisted in maintaining The Kennett Collection—the finest and largest private collection of bonsai outside of Asia—for over 12 years. Here, he gained experience and knowledge from internationally renowned bonsai masters. He has curated the Longwood Gardens bonsai collection since January 2018.

Longwood Bonsai Grower Matt Turner joined the team in 2023 to help care for our growing bonsai collection. Turner previously worked at The Hidden Gardens, one of the largest retailers of yamadori (pre-bonsai collected from the wild) in the US. He studied with several American and international bonsai artists as they taught and worked on private collections in Chicagoland.
