Discover the art of visual storytelling in this enriching professional development experience set within our Gardens. During this immersive session, educators will explore the principles of narrative, documentation, and observation used by National Geographic Explorers—all while earning four Act 48 hours. Learn how to integrate photographic and artistic techniques into your teaching practice to deepen place based and personal learning. Throughout the session, identify National Geographic’s standards for storytelling; gain practical strategies for using photography in life science, art, and environmental classes; and leave with a National Geographic Society resources ready for classroom use. This program supports Pennsylvania Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy & Sustainability (STEELS) standards as well as National Geographic educational standards. 

Recommended for educators in grades K-12. Please note some walking is required, dress comfortably for the terrain and the outdoors. All materials and lunch are included.
