Theatre Garden

Perennials of all shapes and sizes form a decorative patchwork of muted colors and extravagant textures in this Garden.

No matter the season, there is something to see–perfumed blossoms of trifoliate-orange in the spring, prickly pears and sedums in summer, and structural vestiges of the growing season in the winter.

History of this Garden

The walled Theatre Garden was designed by Thomas Church and built in 1975 to replace a terraced Garden designed by Pierre S. du Pont.
