Oak and Conifer Knoll

A glorious vista in all seasons, this area is particularly stunning in the early spring when thousands of purple crocuses, yellow winter aconites, scilla, and chiondoxa create a spectacular floral carpet

A canopy of stately oaks provides shade in the summer. This Garden also features a variety of conifers, including two dawn redwoods—a plant once thought to be extinct.

History of this Garden

Many of the conifers covering the top of this knoll were planted during the 1930s.
