Learning by doing is an important tenet in our program. Throughout our program, students spend hands-on time every week in the Gardens with our expert horticulture staff, applying concepts learned in the classroom and experiencing the unique challenges of each season. In fact, time spent working hands-on in the Gardens represents about half of the total program requirements.
Students also enjoy study abroad travel, during which they explore global horticulture, expand their cultural awareness, and learn through immersion in foreign public and private gardens, commercial greenhouses, nurseries, and botanical centers.
Over the last months of the program, students can choose where in the Gardens they want to focus, learn, and specialize—making the program highly personalized to fit individual needs.
