Exciting Changes for Fall 2023

Beginning in fall 2023, our educator-guided and self-guided field trips are free for school groups in grades pre-K through 12 (ages 4–18).

Making our programs free ensures these programs are accessible to all, keeping with our mission of bringing joy and inspiration to everyone through the beauty of nature, conservation, and learning.

Led by Longwood educators, our educator-guided field trips encourage grades 9-12 students to discover hidden horticulture interests and possible career paths, as well as help improve well-being through nature-inspired activities.

Fall programs are offered September 18 through November 10.

    Finding Your Path

The clock is ticking during this escape room-style experience where students explore the various professional careers that work together to keep Longwood running. Acting as Longwood’s Board of Directors, students complete a series of challenges by applying classroom knowledge to find success and gain perspective on the different roles that exist in a public garden.

  • Grades 9-12

    Benefits of Nature

Get inspired by nature and help students improve overall well-being by disconnecting from technology and exploring the senses through activities such as journaling and creating a DIY scent sachet. Students will leave with tips and tricks that can be used anywhere to promote good mental health.
