Registration for fall 2021 programs opens August 11, 2021
Ever wonder what plants need to grow? Discover the wonderful world of plants by thinking like a gardener as you identify the simple parts of a plant, determine what plants need to grow, and explore what parts of the plant can be eaten.
Discover Longwood’s tree-mendous trees! Explore and identify trees on our historic property, apply math skills to estimate the size of trees, and compare findings. Think like an arborist and observe how changes in the environment, changes in the season, and pests can affect the health of trees.
Finding Your Path: A Sensory Career Experience
Who works in a public garden? Journey through our Gardens to see, smell, hear, and feel how Longwood comes to life. Using sensory kits, discover what it is like to be an arborist and a gardener.
This program is appropriate for groups requiring an adapted program to meet student needs or for groups that are coming with a variety of grade levels, such as home schools or cyber schools.
